WAKE UP INDIA SHE IS DEAD!

You might be really surprised to see a letter from your dad what was the need of it when things could have been spoken in person, True, but you see the biggest fears in life start surfacing when you confront them alone!! The most blissful moment of my life was when you were born for having a baby girl is that surreal feeling in world that can never be expressed in words. I know you have become big and mature enough to take all your decisions in life but I would still like to share my fears.

Draped in one of the most beautiful and elegant colorful sarees that’s an Indian Woman, Giving birth to a child and till the end of her life living with the beats of her child that’s an Indian Woman, Cooking the recipes that you can never ever get in five star hotels that’s an Indian Woman, Travelling in Metros Locals to be at work and handling it at par with the men that’s an Indian Woman, Majestic Shoulders straddling between professional and personal life so well that’s an Indian Woman…And I am proud you are a member of the same fraternity!!!

But after all this if someone is scared to walk on streets, scared to move out of home alone, scared to talk to a boy for that will imply she is approaching, scared to wear clothes an inch smaller She is an Indian Girl, she veils her face the entire day to show respect to a society which is not even close to the serenity of it, She is humiliated till her last breath She is an Indian Woman!!!

I have passed through your age and I had girlfriends and friends both but honestly I have just been able to understand a woman only after marriage and even more after having a daughter.

Now you will think is it the recent case that has trembled your dad, Yes my dear it was 16th December when the winters snuggled the country in its warmth and the motherland wept for the loss of yet another innocent daughter!! I for once just dared to put myself in her parents place and my mind hasn’t rested since then. It were just 2 hours after it, there was another rape of a 4 year old girl in Mumbai and I don’t know how many in entire country,it has stirred and agitated the nerves to the very core, this has made me feel so weak father in a country where the politicians are still raising questions on the dignity of that girl

And I am speechless when there are fingers being raised to the “men of India”. Even I can’t understand how is it even possible to think of such a brutal act for fun and pleasure blotting the entire male society. But I am proud that you are a part of the Youth who dares to do candle march for a girl you don’t even know the name, who dares to shout in the streets for a face you have not even seen because the old with the power on the chairs just know how to throw shoes and watch porn in Parliament and then say "Only 5-6 people are not the culprits. The victim daughter is as guilty as her rapists.”, “Can one hand clap? I don't think so” But you see the news that had occupied the front page ,flooding in all the news channels eventually has ended up to a small column somewhere hidden inside the newspaper. But the brave one has gone and the case has been piled up like many others dumped for so many years.

I am not at all in favor of restrictions for girls You are my son and it should be completely okay if you live life the way you want. I know you have struggled with your career more than me to grab one of the chairs in MNC. But I am helpless my kid and my heart beats faster when you get late I wait for you in fear when you move out, I am Proud but scared Dad of a daughter. It is extremely sad that so many eyes have to be closed to open the eyes of the beasts! Don’t know when India will wake up if not now when she is dead!!

You are my princess and the most prized possession of my life do take care of yourself I trust you more than myself but I don’t trust the people around my dear because when an accident takes place it is irrelevant to speak about the person who was drunk once the life has gone!!!

P.S Your very existence makes me strong Stay blessed and happy always :)!
